CEPI maintains an issues-based information bank. This section
of the CEPI Web page contains an executive summary and analysis
of current education issues under discussion in the Commonwealth.
New topics are added to the information bank periodically
and obsolete briefs are archived to permit accurate
and timely use.
All issues are presented in a standard format. Every effort is
made to present each issue as a comprehensive overview of the
subject; however, CEPI is a university-based research and analysis
institute and does not advocate specific legislative or policy
proposals. All issues are selected based on their relevance and
timeliness to K-12 education policy discussions in the Commonwealth
of Virginia.
For questions or comments, contact Kate
Kaminski, managing editor CEPI Policy Briefs.
CEPIs Web page provides analysis of current legislative
activity by specific issues. Recent legislative history and
current status of the impact of new or proposed legislation are
organized to parallel this issue’s topics found in the “Issues”
section or embedded in the policy brief
itself.
The Commonwealth of Virginias General Assembly provides
public access to a complete listing of all legislation and its
status. Bill summaries as well as complete texts are available.
The bill tracking service provides current information on committees,
calendars, and public hearings. Citizens seeking accurate and
detailed legislative information can find it on the General Assemblys
Legislative Information page: http://leg1.state.va.us/lis.htm.
CEPI also maintains GA information page
containing summaries or legislative action. Archives or past
year's sessions are also available under "GA Info".
CEPI is a university-based research institute and does not advocate
specific legislative proposals. CEPI will analyze pro and con
positions in the broader context of the issues being addressed
and the likely outcomes of such proposals in the context of K-12
education policy.
